This is my go to dessert recipe for whenever I have guests over.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of plain flour
- 1/2 cup of coconut
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 100g chilled butter, chopped
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 4 Granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
- Vanilla custard or ice-cream, to serve
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180. Combine flour, coconut, sugar, butter and oats in a bowl.
- Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles crumble.
- Meanwhile cook apple in a microwave proof dish in water until apple is soft. Drain excess water.
- Place the cooked apple into a large ovenproof dish and cover with crumble mixture.
- Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
- Spoon the apple crumble into serving bowls. Serve with either custard or ice cream.
- Enjoy :)
Tip: I also love to add frozen blueberries or tinned pears with the apple sometimes.
