Apple and Coconut Crumble

This is my go to dessert recipe for whenever I have guests over.


  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1/2 cup of coconut
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 100g chilled butter, chopped
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 4 Granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
  • Vanilla custard or ice-cream, to serve


  1. Preheat oven to 180. Combine flour, coconut, sugar, butter and oats in a bowl.
  2. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles crumble.
  3. Meanwhile cook apple in a microwave proof dish in water until apple is soft. Drain excess water.
  4. Place the cooked apple into a large ovenproof dish and cover with crumble mixture.
  5. Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
  6. Spoon the apple crumble into serving bowls. Serve with either custard or ice cream.
  7. Enjoy :)

Tip: I also love to add frozen blueberries or tinned pears with the apple sometimes.
