Spaghetti Bolognese

Spaghetti Bolognese

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 brown onion diced

  • 2 cloves of garlic crushed

  • 1 zucchini died

  • 4 mushrooms diced

  • 1 x 400g tin of brown lentils

  • 1/2 cup of red wine

  • 1 jar of your favourite pasta sauce

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • 4 serves of cooked spaghetti or pasta

Method:

  1. Cook spaghetti as per packet directions. 

  2. Saute onion and garlic in a large pan. 

  3. Add zucchini and mushrooms and cook until soft. 

  4. Stir in pasta sauce and red wine. Turn down heat and let sauce simmer until it thickens. (Usually 20-25 minutes).

  5. Add in lentils and basil. Stir and allow to simmer for minutes 2 minutes.

  6. Serve sauce over your spaghetti.

  7. Top with basil.
